Mental Land Evaluation

Writer's picture: Austin KennonAustin Kennon

What is the greatest factor? What element limits this site the most? It's less than 10 factors that you need to address. Can you keep up with that? The things to consider are .......

'

  1. Texture- This can be somewhat adjusted with the use of methods.

  2. Depth- Do you see bedrock? Remember it is a non-static system.

  3. Slope- Rain on a rock. Evaluate.

  4. Erosion- Is the site in a gully or a deposit?

  5. Permeability- That means texture plus roots. A big rain is coming.

  6. Internal drainage- What can be filtered within?

  7. Surface Runnoff- What can't penetrate and how quickly can you get back to production?

  8. Flood Hazard- When has a wave crossed your path?

There it is. That is the blueprint. This is the mental model for you to create your food farm. It's one of the patterns you need to create the transparency of connectedness for daily survival. Enjouy.
